Panelists:

Tamara Finch – Tamara Finch is Executive Managing Director and Head of Global Transaction Banking at TD Securities. Tamara joined TD Securities in 2019 to lead the successful growth of TDS’ Financial Sponsors business as a trusted advisor to Private Equity, Infrastructure, and Canadian Pension Plan investors globally and a collaborative internal partner to TDS industry and product partners, Global Markets, TD Commercial Bank and TD Wealth. In her 25+ years of private equity, investment and corporate banking experience, Tamara has built a reputation for being an entrepreneurial change agent, building trust, achieving consensus, and driving value.

Tamara is seen as a senior female role model in Finance, a believer in talent being the key driver of value in all companies, and a passionate advocate of the advancement of women and diverse talent in the workplace, on boards, and in the community. Tamara believes that diversity in teams and board rooms leads to better discussions, better decision making and ultimately better performance. She Co-Chairs the Inclusion & Diversity Leadership Committee for TD Securities and sits on the boards of VersaFi (formerly Women in Capital Markets) and the YMCA-GTA.

Prior to joining TD, Tamara was a direct private equity investor and built the successful value creation business for Ontario Teachers’, creating a systematic, repeatable transformation agenda across the global 60+ company direct investment portfolio that consistently delivered top quartile returns. Tamara sat on the Private Capital Underwriting Committee, chaired the Portfolio Monitoring Committee, and took on key leadership roles in strategy, talent and digital innovation for the Canadian pension fund.

Tamara began her finance career at Scotiabank in Corporate Credit focused on leveraged buy-outs. She has extensive board experience including Amica Senior Lifestyles, Exal Group, Alliance Laundry Systems and Women’s College Hospital.

Tamara holds a BA Honours Economics from Queen’s University and an MBA from the University of Toronto. She is a CFA charterholder and holds the ICD.D designation. Outside of work Tamara enjoys community service, spending time with family and friends, and a good tennis match.

Matthew Parker-Jones  Matthew Parker-Jones joined Scotiabank in February 2023. Matthew provides strategic direction for GTB’s product strategy, developing a profitable growth plan for products across all customer segments including Small Business, Commercial, Corporate and Financial Institutions as well as strategic leadership and executive sponsorship for all Enterprise Payments business initiatives.

Matthew joined Scotiabank from JPMorgan Chase (JPMC), where he was, most recently, Managing Director, Global Head of Pay by Bank and Business-to-Consumer Payments. In this role, he was responsible for global initiatives related to open banking and emerging payments, working closely with some of the world’s leading companies and FinTechs. Matthew also served as Country Head of Treasury Services for Canada. Previously, Matthew held senior roles including Head of Strategy for Global Payments as well as Head of North America Payments Transformation. 

Prior to J.P. Morgan, Matthew worked with Accenture and Kearney as an advisor to global financial institutions, payment networks, and industry bodies for topics including real time payments and ISO20022. His global experience across product management, strategy, and innovation will bolster our payments franchise agenda across markets and customer segments.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with an Honours in Finance from Concordia University, and an MBA from Queen’s University.

Diana Halder – Diana is EY Canada's Payments Practice Leader. She joins EY as a high-performing financial services executive with over 18 years of experience in strategy, large scale program delivery and product innovation. She is a seasoned professional with a solid understanding of payments and commercial banking. Diana is very passionate about her work and actively participates to positively influence the financial services industry that underpins most aspects of society. Diana is an advocate of diversity and inclusion, who is especially committed to supporting minority women in technology.
