Join AFP Toronto as we wrap-up Fraud Prevention Month!  Moderated by Guillermo Aymard from TD Securities, panelists Vlad Cazan (Paybilt) and Dennis Parker (TD Securities) share their insights on fraud detection and prevention.  

Session Overview:

In the fast-evolving financial landscape, fraud has become increasingly sophisticated, presenting major challenges for businesses and individuals alike. This session aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify and respond to fraudulent activities effectively. Topics covered will include recognizing the red flags associated with fraudulent transactions, understanding the mechanisms of modern fraud techniques, particularly in payments, and implementing strategies to safeguard personal and organizational assets.

Speakers:

Dennis Parker – Dennis Parker is currently Senior Advisor, TD Securities, focused on supporting strategic and transformation initiatives across TD's Transaction Banking business. During his nearly 38-year career with TD, Dennis worked as a commercial lender and sales leader before spending 30 years in product leadership roles in business deposits, payments, and business banking portals. Prior to his current role, Dennis spent eight years as the Vice President Business Deposits and Cash Management product in Business Banking Canada. He has participated in industry and Bank led initiatives which seek to make it easier for businesses across Canada to optimize and manage their money movement solutions.

Vlad Cazan – Vlad has spent over a decade building and leading fintech innovations that redefine how payments work. As Chief Technology Officer at Paybilt, Vlad architects real-time payment solutions that make transactions seamless, on-brand, and built for conversion—whether online, in-store, or on mobile. Before joining Paybilt, Vlad held CTO roles where he led software and hardware product development while advancing artificial intelligence–long before it became a mainstream focus. His expertise is backed by more than 15 international patents in machine learning and AI.
